Betty Lou Rowe is an educational consultant for the Indiana Resource Center for Autism (IRCA) and Indiana School Mental Health Initiative (ISMHI) at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, Indiana University, Bloomington.

Rowe serves a project manager for behavior consultants and a research associate for Bring Change to Mind high school mental health clubs. Rowe has experience with individuals with varying needs birth through adulthood. Her ten years of teaching experience includes secondary programs in the area of emotional disability, as well as preschool through elementary programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Rowe has served as an ASD teacher consultant for nine years before moving into the role of a special education instructional coach and then program coordinator.

Degrees

Rowe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s in Education with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder from Oakland University.

Personal Statement

My passion lays in education… educating parents, educating staff, educating the community, educating ALL students. Knocking down barriers so that individuals have access to options is essential for a long-term quality of life.
